Eskdale
The Eskdale is a road safety event (the emphasis is on road safety) with the route based on the original Eskdale Trial, which runs through the minor roads of the North Yorkshire Moors - roads which have changed little over the years and are (in)famous for notoriously steep inclines.  There are seven well known inclines on the route.  The 201 event will be held on Sunday 5th September.

The event starts and finishes at the Middlesbrough and District Motor Club in Coulby Newham with the route covering about 100 miles.  There is a mandatory halfway lunch halt with reserved parking for entrants.  En route, there are marshals and observers to  assist entrants to follow the correct route and to ensure that correct driving standards are maintained at all times.  In the event of  a vehicle breakdown, every effort will be made to rescue you.

The event is open to motorcycles and vehicles based on a car sized chassis - some of the roads are unsuitable for larger vehicles - registered before 31st December 1910 (rolling 20 year rule) for club members and before 31st December 1964 for non-members.  Entry is strictly limited to 120 and at the discretion of the organiser for non-complying vehicles.

There are a number of awards, including:  Best performance by an open car; by a car of 1100 cc or less; by a lady driver; by an MG car; highest combined age of a vehicle and driver and a team award for teams of 3 entrants.
